Easy Christianity is not about a
watered down, easy to believe version of the gospel.
People may change from generation to generation but the
message of Jesus’ death on the cross does not change.
What you can expect from this site
is an attempt to clear the fog that surrounds
Christianity. Too many people see Christianity as
a list do’s and don’ts and miss out on the true meaning
of what it is to be a Christian. Not only does
this rob Christians of some of the joy of their
salvation, but it creates confusion among those who
might accept Christianity.
Easy Christianity is an attempt to
discuss the basics of Christianity in a meaningful way
that anyone can understand and use scripture to back up.
We believe that Christianity is more than just helping
people to feel good about themselves or listening to
some charming stories on Sunday morning.
Christianity should also be more
than a list of rules to follow. The Pharisees of
Jesus’ day had taken obedience to the law so seriously
that they had set up a buffer between the actual law and
every day actions. Today many churches are
legalistic. They had good intentions painted with
too broad of a brush in an attempt to protect us from
ourselves.
On this site you won’t find a lot
of long explanations of doctrinal positions or lengthy
commentary on a Bible passage complete with the
translation of key words from the original Greek and
Hebrew. In order to keep things readable, our
articles are focused to maintain a count of around 500
words. Each page should take you five minutes or
less to read.
So, you’re invited to take a look
at Easy Christianity. We hope that you’ll find it
to be Christianity with nothing added and nothing taken
away, just as God intended it to be.
